Area of interest
I have been studying the actions of natural and synthetic compounds in cancer cells, as well as, in animal tumor models. The proliferation, cell differentiation and antioxidant response are the main cellular processes that are researched in vitro in the Laboratory of Cellular Pharmacology, at UNAM. In addition, I also study the in vivo antitumoral and anti-metastatic actions of natural agents. The goal of our studies is to define the molecular mechanism action of these molecules. However, it is well-known that phytochemicals have several mechanism of actions.
In order to clarify these, I came to Budapest to work in the Molecular Genetic Laboratory of the National Institute of Oncology for the establishment of up-to-date genomic techniques for the study of molecular mechanism actions of phytochemicals in the transcription in cancer cells. We want to determine the genes network involved in the actions of natural agents.
