Public transport from the airport to the city

The Liszt Ferenc Budapest Airport is located within the boundary of Budapest, 16 km from the City eastwards.

Take bus 200E, go to the final stop “Kőbanya-Kispest” metro station and change to metro 3 (blue).

Tickets for public transportation are available at the airport from the local service provider’s (BKK Zrt.) customer service points, from ticket machines or at newsagents’ shops.

Taxi transport from the airport to the city:

This recommended official taxi company, called “Főtaxi” operates cabs from the airport to the city centre.

It is easy to identify them by their logo:

“Főtaxi” has a desk located at the exits at Terminals 2A and 2B where you can arrange your taxi.

From 1 September 2013 taxi tariffs are fixed at 280 HUF/Km (0.95 EUR/Km) in addition to the one-off basic fee of 450 HUF (1.50 EUR) and waiting fee. A ride to the city centre should typically cost around 6500 HUF (22 EUR) depending on traffic conditions. (Prices indicated in EUR are subject to the actual HUF/EUR exchange rate.)

There are also several other taxi companies operating at the airport, so you can choose what is the most fitted for you but the prices will be the same as mentioned above.

Please be aware of exposing yourself at risk by using non-regulated taxi service providers soliciting at the terminal buildings.


Airport Shuttle Service miniBUD:

Passengers can easily reach the venue of the Alumni Meeting by miniBUD, the official airport shuttle service provider for Budapest Airport.

The cost of the service: the service is available from 7 euro/person, but the fees vary in accordance with the distance of the address from the airport.

The fee must be paid concurrently with the reservation, by credit card or you can pay in cash at the sales points located at the airport.
